Mid-South Academy for Children's Theatrics (MSACT) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization which takes a learning-focused approach to improving children's access and connections to the performing arts in the Mid-South. Our work includes after-school programs, homeschool courses, summer intensive workshops, and main-stage youth productions.
MSACT was established in 2024 by Daphne Cox, who has over 30 years' experience directing children's theatre experiences in the Mid-South area.
Our Board of Directors comprises many parents of students who have grown up in Daphne's productions and recognize her passion for sharing the performing arts with children.
I can't say enough great things about the ladies involved in this endeavor! I see pictures of my own child in these images, and I KNOW those experiences helped shape her into the outgoing, brave, and confident little lady she is today. I highly recommend letting your child get involved in the performing arts!

If you want to get your child into the performing arts, I could not recommend Mrs. Daphne enough! She has impacted my life in so many ways, and I would not be the person I am today without her. [My sister] and I learned and grew so much as performers through her direction and encouragement. Go support her new theatre group and get your kids involved! You won't regret it!

My daughter started theatre at the age of five under the direction of Daphne Cox. I have the utmost respect for her and the vast knowledge and experience Mrs. Cox has gained throughout her life in directing, performing, and teaching theatre. As a mother, I'm very thankful for the character traits she instills in them like dedication, responsibility, determination, and professionalism. She has cultivated a love for theatre that will last a lifetime.

My daughter started working with Daphne at the tender age of six. Immediately, she was intrigued by her command and the aspects she learned about theater early on. My daughter learned discipline, hard work, and the true meaning of dedication. She was able to learn theater terms, read a script, and stage directions. Her favorite quote of Daphne’s is “Do not walk with elephant feet when on stage.” She was under the direction of Daphne for many shows and loved every minute of it. Now, at 16 years old, she still speaks highly of Daphne and the things she learned while under her direction. When she sees others that are unfamiliar with how theater works, she always mentions that those kids must have not worked with Mrs. Daphne before. We are grateful to have met her and the opportunities she gave to my daughter.
